About me

Just a quick outline of who I am and what I do
I am originally from Teddington (Middx), and went to Thames Valley Grammar School, in Twickenham. At University, I studied Physics and Chemistry at Keele, where I met my future wife. - Graduated in 1978, and took my PGCE in 1979, moving to Peterborough in 1981

I am married with 2 grown up sons.

I have taught Physics, for 35+ years, although I have recently retired! I taught at Hazlewick School, in Crawley, Arthur Mellows Village College (AMVC) in Peterborough, (for 13 years) where I was lucky to be awarded the 'Teacher's Award' by the Institute of Physics (IoP) Finishing up as Head of Science/Physics at Stamford High School, where I served for 20 years.

I am a 'Chartered Scientist' and a 'Chartered Physicist' and a member of the Institute of Physics.

At present, I am serving as Publicity Officer for the Peterborough Photographic Society(PPS) and am also a member of the Deepings Camera Club (DCC). Having progressed through an assortment of cameras over the years, I now mainly shoot on both 'Cropped Sensor' and 'Full-Frame' Nikon DSLRs, although I also use a couple of Canon compacts as well. My latest 'toy' is a Ricoh Theta 360 camera, which although not DSLR quality, is great fun!

Other hobbies include being a season ticket holder at Peterborough United, (but still have a soft spot for my childhood team, Wolves). PLUS I belong to several Peterborough U3A groups, such as 'Thursday Walkers', 'Foto-Friends', 'Science Matters', 'Plane Daft' and the' Engineering group'.

Hope this little 'pen pic' tells you a little more about me.
